TEAM Cloud uses RackWare capabilities to assess and migrate supported workloads into TEAM Cloud, provide a practical VMware exit path, and deliver a separately defined disaster recovery service.
TEAM Cloud Native Migration Assessment
TEAM Cloud Native Migration Assessment is the integrated discovery and planning capability for moving workloads into TEAM Cloud. It uses RackWare Assessment within the RackWare Multi-Cloud Platform to establish an evidence-based view of supported physical, virtual, cloud and container environments. Assessment information carries forward into migration planning and execution, reducing the manual hand-off between discovery, design and delivery.
Key capabilities
Discovers supported physical servers, virtual machines and cloud instances together with compute, storage and network configuration information.
Identifies databases, multi-tier application components, connected host dependencies and application relationships rather than treating every server as an isolated migration item.
Creates application and infrastructure affinity maps that group related workloads and inform the order in which application tiers should move.
Generates migration waves using system dependencies, change rates and criticality to reduce manual planning effort and execution risk.
Collects performance and configuration evidence to inform target sizing, storage selection and TEAM Cloud consumption estimates before migration begins.
Provides cost modelling informed by measured sizing, usage patterns and configuration data so customers can compare target options and make cost-optimised placement decisions.
Provides visibility into supported Kubernetes and container environments, including pods, persistent volumes and stateful services, where these form part of the migration scope.
Produces the discovery inventory, dependency view, target recommendations, wave plan and scope inputs required to progress into the TEAM Cloud Native Migration Service.
Best suited to. Data-centre consolidation, cloud-to-cloud movement, platform modernisation and large workload estates that need accurate discovery, grouping, sizing and wave planning before execution.
TEAM Cloud Native Migration Service
TEAM Cloud Native Migration Service is an integrated TEAM Cloud capability for moving supported workloads into TEAM Cloud. It uses the RackWare Management Module (RMM), which natively integrates with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure and Oracle Alloy, to automate provisioning, replication, synchronisation and migration orchestration. The service supports physical servers, virtual machines, cloud workloads and selected Kubernetes environments through one cloud-agnostic control plane.
Key capabilities
Supports workload movement from supported physical servers, hypervisors, public or private cloud platforms and Kubernetes environments into the appropriate TEAM Cloud target service.
Uses a lightweight, normally agentless architecture with out-of-band orchestration, limiting permanent software installation and reducing coupling with production systems.
Centralises migration configuration, scheduling, policy and execution through RMM so individual workload moves can be delivered as a governed migration programme.
Uses filesystem-level replication and byte-level delta synchronisation to transfer changed data efficiently, reduce bandwidth consumption and shorten the final cutover window.
Provides checkpointing, automatic resume, compression and encrypted transfer to improve resilience and throughput across wide-area network connections.
Automates supported target provisioning and boot preparation through RackWare's integration with Oracle APIs and services, aligning workloads to TEAM Cloud compute, storage and network resources.
Supports application-aligned waves, pre-production testing, controlled cutover and validation while retaining customer control over approval, sequencing and rollback decisions.
Supports sovereign and restricted environments through role-based administration, encrypted data transfer, audit information and deployment of RMM within the approved environment.
Completes target integration with agreed TEAM Cloud identity, networking, monitoring, logging, security, backup and operational support processes.
Best suited to. Supported enterprise workloads that need a repeatable, automated migration into TEAM Cloud from a data centre, virtual platform, another cloud or a compatible container environment.
VMware exit option using RackWare RMM
A practical VMware exit path. RackWare RMM can use the TEAM Cloud Native Migration Service to move supported VMware virtual machines into native TEAM Cloud Compute on OCI-compatible infrastructure. The migrated workload no longer requires VMware as its target runtime.
RMM supports VMware vSphere and vCenter sources and integrates with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure and Oracle Alloy target environments.
Agentless orchestration, filesystem-level replication and byte-level delta synchronisation allow initial data movement while the source remains online and reduce the final production cutover window.
The supported operating system, applications, configuration and data are moved into TEAM Cloud, with target provisioning and boot preparation managed through the RackWare and Oracle integration.
After testing, business acceptance and source decommissioning, customers can retire the corresponding VMware capacity and reduce exposure to Broadcom's changed subscription, bundling and core-licensing economics.
Migration support and the achievable cutover are confirmed for each workload. VMware-specific management constructs and unsupported or tightly coupled systems require separate target design or an alternative migration treatment.
